Previous competitions
The first World Robot Olympiad was hosted by Singapore in 2004. Since then WRO has been hosted by Thailand, China, Taipei/Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Philippines and - for the first time in the Middle East - Abu Dhabi in 2011.
Over the years the tendency has been that the WRO final gets bigger both in terms of numbers of teams participating and media coverage.
